When you lose your belongings, try hard to be patient. When others were to lose your belongings, try even harder to be patient.
Just don’t lose the love you have been building for Allah and his Messenger. When you love them, you love their teachings. When you follow their teachings closely, they will love you. When they love you, you will be close to them. When you are close to them, nothing else in the world can ever make you happier. Not even a mulitimillion dollar house, car, business or money can truly make you happy forever.
Believe me, when you try to make yourself happy by always rewarding yourself with material goods, you are just finding temporary happiness. When the good wears out and spoils, you will discard it and find a newer and better one. This will go on and on and on until you have inbuilt your trust and happiness into material goods (referring to luxury goods).
It is not wrong to possess material goods when we have a real need for it. It is not wrong to possess material goods to make our life comfortable. If it is excessive in your life, then be very careful about it because it can take over your life.
What is this world when material possessions are just temporary. Do your material possessions console you when you are truly upset? Do your material goods give you blessings and peace of mind?
